Bank Jatim Wins Award at Merdeka Awards 2024

JAKARTA, September 19, 2024. PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) successfully received a prestigious award from Merdeka.com at the Merdeka Awards 2024, held on Thursday night (September 19). The award presented to BJTM was in the category of Innovative Programs for the Nation. The awarding ceremony took place at the SCTV Tower Auditorium, and the award was handed over by the Chief Content Officer of Kapanlagi Youniverse, Wens Manggut, and accepted by bankjatim’s Director of Micro, Retail, and Medium Business, R. Arief Wicaksono.

Arief expressed his gratitude, saying that bankjatim is extremely thankful for the award. This achievement is due to bankjatim’s significant contribution to the nation and its outstanding work performance. The parameters and indicators used in awarding BJTM included innovative programs driving economic growth, such as JConnect Invest, the Jatim Kilat app, and the Tani Akur program. Additionally, the award recognized innovative public service programs such as IKD for banking and KatePay, as well as innovative support for digitalization through JConnect Mobile Banking and the e-KMG app.

Arief elaborated that Jatim Kilat is one of bankjatim's loan products specifically designed for micro and small business owners. This app is equipped with outstanding features to speed up the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for credit applications, while also serving as a monitoring tool for the process. As of the first quarter of 2024, Jatim Kilat had approved loans totaling IDR 1.97 trillion, with an additional IDR 375.19 billion still in process. This credit aims to help MSMEs grow further.

Another program, Tani Akur, focuses on empowering millennial farmers in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture. Bankjatim’s easy access to capital through the Tani Akur program is designed to help millennial farmers meet their operational needs. The bank’s services include not just facilitating access to funding but also providing guidance and mentoring for the credit granted. This service is part of bankjatim's commitment to supporting the growth of young agricultural entrepreneurs and the development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in agriculture.

Regarding public service innovation, bankjatim became the first bank in Indonesia to implement Digital Population Identity (IKD) for banking. Additionally, bankjatim developed KatePay, an innovation resulting from a partnership with the Surabaya City Government to provide cashless payment systems for elementary and middle school students in the city. This program is also aimed at introducing students to banking activities. Bankjatim’s support for KatePay facilitates digital financial transactions for students in Surabaya schools.

“In supporting digitalization, we also have JConnect Mobile Banking, where users can open accounts online. JConnect also provides a variety of digital transaction services to meet all customer needs, from transfers and e-wallet top-ups to property tax payments, QRIS, and much more,” said Arief.

According to him, all of these achievements would not have been possible without the excellent performance of Jatimers (bankjatim employees) and, of course, the support of the entire community. In line with this, bankjatim will continue to undergo sustainable transformation to ensure the company continues to grow rapidly. “We certainly hope that this award will motivate us to continue innovating so that bankjatim can grow sustainably and always give the best for this nation,” he emphasized.
