PASURUAN, September 13, 2024. As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the surrounding community, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (bankjatim) has once again provided CSR assistance. This time, the CSR donation was given to the East Java Provincial Social Services Office in the form of one (1) operational vehicle for the benefit of Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS). The donation was handed over at the Sampoerna Entrepreneurship Training Center (SETC) in Pasuruan by Bank Jatim’s Director of Compliance, Umi Rodiyah, to the Head of the East Java Provincial Social Services Office, Restu Novi Widiani, on Friday (13/9). The handover ceremony was also witnessed by Acting Governor of East Java, Adhy Karyono.

Umi explained that the provision of the operational vehicle aims to improve services for PPKS in East Java and serve as a support facility for case response and outreach activities at the Social Service and Rehabilitation Center for Social Welfare Issues in Sidoarjo, under the East Java Social Services Office. In addition, this CSR initiative is part of Bank Jatim’s commitment to collaborating with local governments to enhance public welfare.

“This donation is essentially an effort to support the East Java Provincial Government’s program, especially in facilitating support facilities that can help create social welfare in the community. We are always committed to working hand in hand with the government to solve existing problems,” she stated.

Umi expressed hope that the assistance would enable the East Java Provincial Government to perform its duties even better and continue meeting the needs of its citizens. “Bank Jatim will always support every initiative aimed at the welfare of the people,” she added.

Meanwhile, Adhy Karyono appreciated the roles of the social welfare pillars in poverty alleviation across East Java. “The success of social welfare development in East Java is thanks to the strength of these social pillars. Thank you, and let’s keep up the spirit as we move toward a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.

According to Adhy, overall, East Java has achieved significant progress in social welfare development, due to strong collaboration between central and provincial levels. “This success also stems from well-designed strategic policies and programs in the area of social welfare and poverty reduction. It shows that we are actively working, not idle. But who’s really working hard on the ground? It’s these social welfare pillars,” he added.

During the event, Adhy also distributed various forms of social assistance, including the third-quarter disbursement of the Family Hope Program (PKH) Plus, Social Assistance for Persons with Disabilities (ASPD), Extreme Poverty Alleviation, and Social Empowerment aid to four individuals. Additionally, 83 motorcycles were handed over to Regional Coordinators, Regional Representatives, and District Coordinators of the PKH program. Meal assistance was also provided to six Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA) with a total value of IDR 2 billion, and death compensation to one beneficiary. Furthermore, third-quarter incentive payments of IDR 500,000 were awarded as appreciation to PKH assistants, Sub-district Social Welfare Workers (TKSK), and Tagana Plus personnel.
